Pebbles and Bam Bam Erode Their Chances of Settling for the Holidays - Science Play Excerpt:

Bam Bam:  Hey, earthworms, give me a push!

Earthworms:  We’re here to put nutrients into the soil the natural way.  We’re not work worms.  We are earth worms.  Besides, it is too cold to come out of the dirt.

Bam Bam:  You do not have to come out.  Just push the ground up behind me so that I tilt towards the opening in the garden.  Hurry!

Earthworms:  1 - 2- 3, push!

Bam Bam:  Thanks guys, it was nice knowing you.  Pebbles, where are you?  I am coming!

Pebbles:  Bam Bam, I’m over here.

Bam Bam:  I can’t stop rolling down the side of the hill.

Pebbles:  Good.  I’m rolling down the hill, too.  But, I’m getting smaller.  Little pieces are starting to chip away.

Bam Bam:  Me too.  We are starting to erode.  Look out, Pebbles.  The soil from the garden is also sliding down the hill.

Pebbles:  Whee!  This is starting to get fun.  But, I hope we stop before I grind totally away.

Bam Bam:  Yeah.  I am getting smaller than you because I am heavier. I hit the side of the hill harder and bigger pieces chipped away.

Pebbles:  We are leaving our own trail of dirt. I bet we would make good soil for Geo Joe’s garden.

Bam Bam:  There is no use in looking backwards.  We are almost at the bottom.  I did not realize how high up Geo Joe’s neighborhood is.
